Ana Cristina Pereira is a postdoc researcher at CES (University of Coimbra) as a member of the (DE) OTHERING project. PhD in Cultural Studies, University of Minho, with the thesis “Alterity and identity in cinematographic fiction in Portugal and Mozambique” (2019). She has as main research interests: racism, social identity, social representations and cultural memory in cinema, in a post-colonial and intersectional perspective. She was co-editor of nº 6 of VISTA Revista de Cultura Visual- (In) Visibilities: image and racism. Between 2017 and 2019 she was a researcher on the project On the margins of Portuguese cinema: a study on Afro-descendant cinema produced in Portugal. She is a collaborative researcher at CECS (Universidade do Minho) as a member of the CulturesPast & Present project.
